Iris’ Postal Portal

Welcome to Iris’ Postal Portal.  We have all heard of the messenger God Hermes. Iris is the Goddess of messages (and rainbows)! Step into the postal portal, a larger than life mailbox, and enter a unique and immersive themed experience. Manipulate the 9 foot tall flag arm, enjoy listening to the 15-hour, postal themed playlist while you write a letter or postcard. Iris provides all necessary materials, pens, markers, stickers, postcards, holiday cards, and most importantly, stamps. The post office is fully functional and we are dedicated to getting your message to where it needs to go. We even have a process to get your message to ~The Other Side~  

  Last year, Iris’ Postal Portal encouraged over 500 hand-written messages and this year we would like to double that number. The Postal Portal would like this project to continue to run on a gifting economy and be financially supported by outside grants. The idea is to bring the mailbox to libraries, schools, and local festivals and events across the Northern Virginia, DC and MD area. There are currently 6 events on this years’ schedule and we are looking to add 1-2 more. might have.
